And then I realized I didn't need windows anymore. What software would you recommend to convert the partitions left on the SSD to Linux mint compatible ones ?

I can already use them but only as storage.

Can I expand the 70 Go I had reserved for mint without having to go through a full reinstall?

What can I use and how ?

Computers are amazing in that you really can't hurt them unless you physically pull them apart (under normal circumstances).

What is not so amazing is that while you can't hurt the hardware, you can lose your data. The data is not replaceable so have copies and backups around!

You can always reinstall, but you can't reconstitute data once it's truly gone.
