And then I realized I didn't need windows anymore. What software would you recommend to convert the partitions left on the SSD to Linux mint compatible ones ?

I can already use them but only as storage.

Can I expand the 70 Go I had reserved for mint without having to go through a full reinstall?

What can I use and how ?

Please, thx

GParted (available in the software center) is a graphical program for easily editing partitions.

You can usually expand a partition into adjacent empty space.

Reminder: Be careful of which partitions you edit, and also have backups of any important data on a separate device.

Let this be a warning to all newbies. Messing with dual boot or changing partitioning on your drives can nuke all your data. I learned the hard way.

Gparted is a wonderful tool.

Please practice on a thumb drive or sd card to learn about partitions, formatting, and resizing before you touch anything production like your main hard drive.

Computers are amazing in that you really can't hurt them unless you physically pull them apart (under normal circumstances).

What is not so amazing is that while you can't hurt the hardware, you can lose your data. The data is not replaceable so have copies and backups around!

You can always reinstall, but you can't reconstitute data once it's truly gone.

Thx guys,

I'll try to extend my little linux-mint part to <good-size> with gpart after backing up the very few data I have on these disks.

I'll update whenever it's done, whether it's a success or a fail

Thx again :)

Well it's been done just now, success ! Window's gone, I first booted on a live Linux usb key, then formatted the windows partition, then reduce its size to 50mb because y not , then only increased Linux partition to the full left size on the drive. All done with gparted.

So, cool cool ^^

Thx for your hints and advices all
