I don't generally think of myself as particularly creative, and by your definition (motivation to make art), I'm definitely not very creative. By your student's definition (freedom to generate different ideas), I feel a little more creative.
I have to think about this for a bit, but based on previous discussions, I think I actually am reasonably creative, just not necessarily very artistic. My creativity tends to lean more... practical? I'm not sure.
Aha! Right, creative is not necessarily artistic. Practical creativity isn’t something I’ve heard much about, but it sounds neat!
