Just because people don't like the same game you do it doesn't mean they are shitting on it.
That's you being overly defensive for no reason.
I'm shitting on it.
It's slow, has a ton of advertising ( probably more than actual play time), causes CTE, wastes money at colleges that would be better spent elsewhere, covers up sex crimes etc.
There are a ton of more interesting / exciting sports than American football.
I'll still attend a gathering today but only because I like food and socializing whether the game is on isn't really relevant to me .
Don’t tell the other Americans I said this, but American football is objectively just not a good sport. I follow it because it has cultural and social relevance here, but there’s at least a dozen sports I can think of off the top of my head that are objectively better for viewing. The NFL is only popular because it’s the best sport for advertisers.

Doesn't mean you can just shit on what someone else likes, or I mean you can and you can act like a dick about it, but all it does is reveals what an asshole you are.
