Reliability of crash autosave (lemmy.world)

I was cruising around in my new garbage truck earlier and the game let me know that it was time to do something else for a change by crashing to desktop. When I loaded in the next time, I seemed to be roughly in the spot where the crash happened. No idea if the save was the cause or the result of crashing or in any way related or not. Is an autosave that happened around a crash in danger of being somehow corrupted due to that or are the autosaves the game manages to reload definitely clean?

I’ve had my corvette get replaced by the crappy default one after a crash to desktop. I’d check that at a minimum.
