Wearing a tie can reduce blood flow to the brain by 7.5 per cent, make you feel dizzy and give you headaches

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.
This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?
Just post some stuff and don't spam.
Hevent worn a tie for any reason other than a funeral in the last 20 years. I refuse. If I show up to work in a T-shirt with no holes I'm dressed up.
Its funny being the only one at the senior staff meeting in an Iron Maiden T while everyone else is suit and tie. Good thing I'm good at what I do
Good for you, think about it, everyone shows up to work with a noose tied around their neck, slipknot and all. How is that not a vulnerability? Someone could grab the skinny end and choke you out. Police don't wear them, if they have to wear ties they use clip ons for just that reason.
It wouldn't be as easy as it sounds.
A properly tied full Windsor is awfully tight and takes a little wiggling to tighten up into the collar. Considering that the tail is generally put into the loop in the back of the tie, it would be hard to get to. Even if you did grab it, it's not likely going to cinch tighter by just dragging on it.
Now that's not to say you couldn't still just grab the tie in the front, pull it around to the back, and choke the absolute shit out of someone! Using that logic though we also have to do away with scarves, purse straps, and necklaces below a certain "gage".
I have seen videos of fights of people grabbing the small part of the tie and pulling on it, yeah it's not tailor made for choking but it does cinch up when you pull it. One such video a guy was doing that and the choked guy head butted him, took care of that problem.
Still though, it's a vulnerability, and there is no legitimate reason to wear it. Now you want to talk about wearing chains, I would agree they are too, jewelry is a waste and vanity and often a vulnerability as far as I'm concerned, excepting wedding rings. Although one can argue it's a store of value you carry around in case you need to pay for something. Scarves are too that's right, as hankerchiefs are, but you aren't tying them around your neck they are just wrapped around.
