I did about 1100 miles in a day on a Sportster and it freaking SUCKED. I took two days getting back and it was easier. Only thing that saved me was before my trip I put on a new seat. I didn't watch the whole thing but I hope that rebel had something better than stock.
Do you feel the sporter was too small due to seat (even with mod)? Frame? Or the small tank that made the trip suck?
Suspension. It's moddable (pretty much everything on it is) but I just made a rear adjustment and took off. The stops didn't help, but those were too bad because it's got the 4.5 gallon instead of the peanut tank. I got whipped around by the wind pretty good at one point because it's small.
I came up riding a goldwing which is like a car on two wheels so I've got a pampered butt.
I did six or seven hundred on a BMW RT and it also sucked, but I had heated handgrips at least.
On a Sportster??! You're insane mate😃. I did 250km in one day on my old sportster, that what was made me realize I wanted a moto guzzi v85
The seat made a load of difference. Mustang step up. I wouldn't have gotten three hours in with the stock seat, and bless those dudes that do it on fucking springers.
Those V85 look freaking cool. I've seen folks shitting on their engines but I haven't done my homework on them so I don't know if that's just a signal to noise ratio thing.
Normally I'd ask how they are because I'm usually looking for another motorcycle. However, I've got a bagger and a bar hopper at the moment so instead I'll ask how you're enjoying it haha.
Yeah I switched to a Saddlemen seat, but realized I wanted something larger anyway
I love the engine. I think it's like with Harleys, people shitting on them because they don't understand why you'd choose it. Like a Harley, it's got push rods. It still has the v-twin vibrations, but not as much as a Harley. Very happy with it. Bought it in winter 2023. Ridden almost 10 000km already😃
