Just reading the headline I was about to complain about cosmetic surgery and letting him go through puberty first and all that but then

Alfie Phillips has a rare condition called fibular hemimelia, which caused his right leg to not develop properly, leaving it more than an inch shorter than his left.

Fair play in that case.

sounds like it's not actually to make him taller then... Just will allow him to stand up fully without needing to stand on one foot...
