Good morning, fellow sobernauts, IWNDWYT, 😁!

We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same. Maybe you’re new to c/stop drinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!

My year so far has been interesting in regards to being more conscious about alcohol consumption. I've only had a drink on certain social occasions, so the habit is petty much gone, but I've also noticed that there's change in what I'm trying to get out of it.

Sometimes I'll be out having a drink and usually when I'd get home, I'd have another and drink rather quickly as well. Now I take my time to savour a drink and on several occasions I came home thinking I'd like another drink, but then decided against it purely because I feel there's no upside to having another.

Physically, I feel better. I have been dealing with eczema my whole life and it's never really gone, but I am noticing a drastic decrease in redness in the face. Also I'd get inflammations on the skin, sort of like zits, they have also really decreased. I always had a feeling alcohol was a large influence, I suppose now I have proof. It's just another very good reason to seriously limit the amount of alcohol I drink.

Last but not least, it's of course also a lot more financially sound. If only my wife'd quit smoking, we'd be rich in no time!

Nice perspective. Thanks for sharing. You might consider researching Rosacea to see if it is a fit for your skin condition.
