Thanks for answering respectfully. I didn't see the bars but now I do. Neither was I aware of any ties between him and Israel but reading the other comments, I guess I missed it.
I try to make my critics of Israel about settler colonialism and genocide, not about Judaism. When I see an "against every antisemitism"-sticker, I put my "stop the genocide"-sticker demonstratively next to it. Speaking out against antisemitism stays important, especially in times where people conflate Israel with Judaism on both sides (either to defend the Zionist project or to attack uninvolved Jews) but in this case, I misread it and lacked context.
Thoughtful responses like these give me hope
