Bloomers, loafs, flatbreads, rye breads, wheat breads, sourdough breads, yeast breads - all fermented breads are welcome! Vienesse pastries like croissants are also welcome because technically they're breads too.

this right here is why i use the cast iron for everything. the crust so crusty!


KitchenAid mixers are awful for mixing dough - they die so quickly due to the plastic gears. I would like to see someone come up with metal replacement parts to make them last longer for dough mixing, but I just got rid of my mixer and now do everything by hand (or by time).
the plastic gears must be new, they have a reputation for longevity. my mom's is as old as i am. im sure they got bought out or something
yes, but that was like decades ago; an older generation might think they were reliable, but they've been garbage for a long time now.
The next best option I know of is to buy a small commercial Hobart mixer with a dough hook - but they cost like $1000 or something insane and are much larger still than a KitchenAid or typical consumer mixer, so I don't consider it realistic for most people.
