Silk Tallow? I haven't lathered that base in a while but I treat them the same.

The brush should be slightly damp. Squeezed out. Load load load. You should start off with thick, dry lather. That's my only secret.

If you load wet, it'll puff up and you'll think you have enough soap, but in the words of Cosmo Kramer - "I'm getting no protection!"
