Merry Christmas!
I mentioned it to the PieFed developer because it doesn't seem like a standard markdown thing. Who knows!

December 24th, 2025: BVWSC
Today is the monthly meeting of the Buena Vista Wetshaving Social Club (BVWSC), organized on https://sub.wetshaving.social/ and/or https://wetshav.ing/.
This month we're using Night at the Pub, sent to use by @snooting@wetshav.ing. The smush smelled a lot like clove, but after lathering it changed completely! It turned into more of a mulled wine scent to me -- very fitting for the season. The soap took some work to get enough loaded into this nice soft badger, but I'm sure it'd go faster with a synthetic or if I knew to go at it with more water. In the end I got a super nice result!
FYI, adding --- in your markdown makes the line above it into a Heading level 2 (see here https://www.markdownguide.org/basic-syntax/#alternate-syntax).
It doesn't bother me, but if you're interested in making your posts display better in the PieFed web front end, now you know! It doesn't seem to affect mobile apps or Lemmy, so it's just PieFed that respects that particular markdown code.

I've been fighting the same fight as you for a long time, by the way. Thanks for calling me a bad person.

This is correct. You even have to manually add DNS records for it to work.
Are you sure you want to die on this hill? It's a silly pop up. Don't use Lemmy -- done.
The Lemmy instance that I host also has this pop up because it's built into Lemmy. Am I a bad guy too?

It didn't get too chilly inside, luckily. It was only in the 30's (F) today.
The heat is back on, by the way! The burner is less than 2 months old, and they replaced the (pardon me for probably getting some of these parts wrong) igniters, nozzle, primary coil, and CAD cell (flame detector). Just threw a bunch of parts at it until it worked (a valid method of repair, sometimes!).
I'm glad we have a service contract which is about $400 a year -- we got our money's worth with the old system, and again it's proving to be worth it with a brand new system.

Very nice shave, though a bit rushed. We've had people here working on the heat since this morning, but luckily enough hot water for showers in between it being broken.
The Lemmy developers added this pop up within the last year I believe. It's random, and I think it's limited to maybe once a year.
Don't direct your anger at the lemmy.world admins -- they're just running software. If you don't like them, you don't like anyone who hosts a Lemmy instance. I run both Lemmy and PieFed, so I'm safe I hope!
Merry Christmas!
