Alright I decided to add another field, mostly to help myself remember my zinc supplement! I probably only remember about 60% of the time. If you ever have flakes on your scalp or face give it a try. Helps prevent fungus that can be the root cause. I haven't had to use dandruff shampoo regularly since I started taking zinc, usually only need to when I forget my zinc multiple days.

I'm interested to hear more about your zinc supplement - it sounds like something I could maybe use. Is this an oral supplement?

So far I have found that the blueberry serum from ash hopper is pretty much the only thing that will prevent my eyebrows from being flaky D: it does work, but it's expensive and kind of annoying that I will be flaky the next day if I miss even one day.

Yes I take a 30 mg oral supplement daily (if I remember!). 40 is the max recommended according to some sources, though many brands I see in the store come in 50 mg. Zinc is antifungal, and fungus is the root cause of dandruff in a lot of cases. Note that one of the most common ingredients in dandruff shampoo is pyrthione zinc. I read about taking zinc somewhere, tried it, and it's working well for me. If you look around on reddit communities for seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff) it works for some people but not everyone, which is the same for any treatments, so it's as worth a try as anything. For me it has been great and I don't have to really worry about other treatments, but I keep around some dandruff shampoo for when I get a flare up (usually when I forget the supplement a couple days). Before I took zinc I'd have to rotate different types of dandruff shampoo every few days.
