Off topic, but as you may or may not know, the largest/highest traffic lemmy instance, lemmynsfw went down about 2 weeks ago.
The two admins discuss what happened in this post:

It's been sort of recovered by one of the admins, but it only exists as an archive, or it will when that becomes available.
The surviving admin has created fedinsfw.app as a piefed instance because of much better moderation tools.
But content-wise, they're starting from scratch.
That makes me wonder what's the bus factor of ani.social ๐ค
AFAIK, it's just hitagi since gaen is a bot. More admins wouldn't necessarily solve the issue that lemmynsfw faced since it had to do with billing on their infrastructure. I am an admin on a couple other instances, even with ssh access, but don't have access to the billing side of things. That is a big jump up in trust I think that many are hesitant to make.
I feel for lemmyposter, it's not a great situation to be in. I sit in a couple matrix channels with them and they have been fighting all the gremlins while trying to spin things up. I do think it is funny that fedinsfw has now shot up to be (I think) the second most populous piefed instance in the span of like two weeks.
