Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

I'm obviously not an expert. But, from what I can tell, the scene seems quite healthy. And I don't see a reason why it wouldn't thrive further. Especially as the Linux market share is in the lift. Anti-cheat shenanigans are a lot more concerning. Though, I'm optimistic that Valve is actively making progress on that front.
Btw, just as an FYI: I know people that were more interested in software piracy. But I digress...
what software do people pirate in linux? would adobe even work in linux? or microsoft office?
One of the primary reasons to run linux is not to run ms office and Adobe, I'd say...
What Linux user wants either of those?
The same as windows but less because most of us use free open source alternatives
office works fine if you use a translation layer like proton. There are also free/open source office suites that are file compatible and way better.
specific versions of Adobe work with proton, but not all. There are better alternatives on Linux for the most part.
pirated or legit makes no difference
what software do people pirate on linux then?
WinRAR
weird. 7 zip works great
It's a great piece of software. As such, I wouldn't want to harm them. Hence, I won't give you any pointers. Sorry not sorry.
