I think the problem is that a lot of the current Trek shows are poorly written and waste good casts. Programmable matter? Dumb. “I swallowed my combadge”? Barf. A crying alien is the answer to why every starship in the universe suddenly explodes? Just awful.
Disco had his problems, but SFA is really a solid series and honestly I would rank it over SNW in quality. Have you actually seen it instead of complaining about minor details (the combadge, I agree that the burn was idiotic but that ship sailed with disco already)
