Is it possible to just not use age verified services? I personally barely have any online accounts, especially on corporate services. I dont think it will be a big loss to me if they would ask for verification.

All of this really seems to be impractical to enforce, just like the whole encryption ban that is happening in UK/Europe. There are too many outliers to cover every way to circumvent the way the internet actually works and how compliance is actually enforced.

All those IOT devices (thermostats, refrigerators, cameras, printers, etc) would either cease to function OR this is all something that is easily circumvented like the current age verification on websites for those over 18. I don't see the general internet being forced to adopt this policy or be held liable anytime soon/at all.

As I see it, this would likely affect larger social media platforms, probably most banking/financial websites, porn, and some government sites; which may or may not impact you.

Yeh, but once they have all the big companies complying then they can go after the little guys.
And if, at any point, a little guy becomes problematic then they can fuck them over with compliance violations.

So yes. Just use services that don't require ages verification.
But once they become large enough or problematic enough, they will get the book thrown at them

Depends how hard your area pushes for it. Some places are calling for OS to verify age. You could probably opensource your way around that, at least until you need a digital ID to access the internet legally.
