The Dig is such an underrated classic. It was amazing when it released and then became forgotten as soon as 3D and Adventure games mixed.

The atmosphere is amazing in it, same with the voice acting, and they did some creative things with the Scumm engine.
That one "turtle" skeleton puzzle can go kick rocks tho..

Alan Dean Foster did a novelization of it. I found it at a thrift store a while back. I haven't read it yet, but I was surprised that one existed since I'd never heard of it.
