Via NBC:

Amanda Robbins is angry about the war with Iran. She’s angry about the price of gas.

But mostly, the 35-year-old resident of Millersburg, Pennsylvania, is mad at herself for backing President Donald Trump at the ballot box. Not once, not twice. “Three times,” Robbins said while she fueled up at the Penn Jersey Mart here.

“That was my bad. Apparently, I’m an idiot.” Robbins was so fed up that she used an expletive to describe the president: “a worthless pile of s---.”

Nah shes worse than an idiot. Genuine ghoul. The fact that her opinion is only changed by the price of gas and world destabilising war.

I watched the video. The article is very short and only picks up on the best soundbite.

They interviewed people at a gas station while they're filling up. Of course it was mainly about gas prices. The interviewer than says "they also talked about the war and she was against that too".

Asked what she thinks about The Don rn, she turns to the camera and says the above quote. And that's all we have.

Compared to the three other people who mindlessly support everything Trump throws at them, I am willing to bring this one back into the fold.

At least her opinion was changeable. By something. For many, that's not the case.

It's been 11 years since our president announced he was running for office. She would have been about 24. It's possible that the biggest thing that changed is: she grew up a little.

Idk. Maybe not a ghoul. think she can be angry about both at the same time. People voted for him with the expectation that he would lower prices and decrease America's involvement in foreign affairs. He duped a lot of the country and they fell for it. People who were struggling economically are still struggling. It doesn't help that many parts of our country necessitate cars.

As an outsider, I can excuse the 2016 vote because I recognize that people were angry at the system. But the subsequent votes are inexcusable, Trump's goals and methods were apparent from the get go.

I mean the fact that people seemed to have forgiven January 6th is something I'll never be able to understand.

Trump is the president U.S. deserves.
Fuck Trump and FUCK the U.S. of WAR.

Trump is not the president the US needs, he is the one the US deserves.

[–] merde@sh.itjust.works 1 points 5 hours ago

you're right. i edited my comment accordingly

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 2 points 5 hours ago

yep. clear.

she calls him a "worthless pile of shit" (unless my memory of the past 20 seconds has already failed me)

assuming that she is presented in the correct context here, she's saying that because of the price of gas. all the other shit didn't do that, but this did.

again that's assuming that she is presented in the correct context

There is a path to redemption, and she is at least thinking about taking it.

Yes and fuck anyone who says otherwise. The pedophile stuff didn't matter. The immigration stiff didn't matter. It was only when it financial stung her. The feeling will probably fade.

People need to spend more time interacting with these deplorables before forgiving them for expressing a bit of doubt.

[–] orbituary@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 7 hours ago

People should be able to change.
