i use water, bar soap, and moisturizer and thats pretty much it. (and an epilator for hair removal)

it does keep me clean, but my skin is not so smooth. i would enjoy seeing what others around here do, or perhaps resources you find useful as well.

side tangents on nails, hair, etc. are also welcome :)

Great info! Thanks for this. Out of curiosity would you be able to give an estimate of how much buying all of those products would cost and approximately how long they last you?

Um, unfortunately I can't comment on exactly how long things last. My memory isn't good enough to remember how long anything lasts me lol. The serums last a long time for me, and the toner (at least the glycolic acid toner) lasts suuuuper long (esp in the larger size). Oh, and I need to stress this: what works for me may not work for u. I have gradually added things to my routine specifically tailored to my needs, which are likely somewhat different to urs.

How abt this? I'll list the everything by my subjective "affordability":

Affordable

  • The Ordinary products (all very affordable and last a long time)
  • Billie razor and whipped shaving cream (I dont wanna price this out—I just get them at my local Target since that's the only place I can ever find the Ingrown Protection one)
  • La Roche-Posay stuff (it's a drugstore brand, but deffo on the more expensive side of drugstore, which is still very, very affordable)
  • Cremo shaving cream $8 for 6oz
  • Leaf Twig safety razor. Expensive to buy, extremely affordable to replace blades. Blades cost cents each, and u can use them like 5 times before u need to change them. It's way cheaper in the long run than a cartridge razor. $109 up front for the kit including stand, blades, and used blade holder (u can ship it back to them to recycle the blades!). 50 blades (~250 shaves) is $15, at $0.30/blade. 200 blades (~1,000 shaves) is $40 at $0.20/blade. U don't have to buy their blades; u can use any other safety razor blade!
  • Paul Mitchell Extra-Body Sculpting Foam Mousse $30 for 16.9oz, which will last a really long time
  • Kenra Platinum Dry Texture Spray 6 $25 for 5.3oz
  • Batiste Light Dry Shampoo $9 for 3.81oz
  • Nyx Marshmallow Smoothing Primer (u can get it bundled with the setting spray, too iirc) $14 for 1oz (will last a long time)
  • Anua Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil (I use a LOT of makeup, including all over my neck, so I go through this pretty quick, but if u could get away with 2 pumps (light makeup), then it's pretty affordable) $18 for 6.76oz (I've heard people recommend the Ma:nyo one instead; it's the same price, but it has lavender oil and I'm allergic to lavender)
  • Blue Lizard SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen $16 for 5oz
  • Most of the tools I use (hair dryer ($41), brushes, etc.). Only exception is the Ion Magnesium Flat Iron 1 Inch ($82) which is mid range for a flat iron, but performs quite well.

A little expensive

  • Nécessaire The Exfoliant Bar $15 for 1 or $40 for 3
  • Nécessaire The Deodorant $24 for 2.5oz
  • RoC Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Eye Cream $22 for 0.5oz (cheap for an eye cream, but u don't get much—u only need a teeny tiny amount tho)
  • Grace & Stella Energizing Eye Mask 48 pairs for $35
  • DAE Mirage Mist Leave-In Conditioner (it lasts awhile tho) $30 for 5oz

Luxury/expensive

  • Ouai Fine Hair Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner (they do last awhile, but they're $32 a pop for 10oz)
  • Ouai Fine to Medium Treatment Masque (again, lasts awhile but it's $38 for 8oz)
  • Nécessaire The Body Wash $42 500mL
  • Nécessaire The Body Lotion $52 450mL
  • Colorescience Total Protection No-Show Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 $68 for 2.8oz (works great under makeup)
  • Colorescience Brush-On Sunscreen Mineral Powder SPF 50 $69 for 0.4oz (it's a powder so it can go over makeup every 2 hours when I need to reapply)
  • Glamglow Supermud Face Mask $42 for 3.5oz

Hope this helps a little bit! I'm afraid I really don't know how long most of these things last, so it's hard for me to comment on that lol.
