Overview:
Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

id say more practical, you can use solar panels on your roof and charge in your garage. Here in Australia that's what I do in my rural location.
We have also used V2L to run our refrigerator, freezer, router, charge devices and a couple lights at night in a recent power outage, no. oise pissing off neighbors as well, rural areas tend to suffer power outages more because of the transmission line damage from storms.etc and ev's add some resilience
EVs are problematic in condos for charging but all cars in cities are shitty anyway
That plan doesn't work up here. See, in the Northern hemisphere, the sun is up during the day, which is coincidentally the same time we all drive our cars to work, so charging cars from solar panels at night while we and our cars are home isn't really viable; you'd need house batteries with several times the capacity of your vehicle to make that plus normal house power, and the panels to charge said batteries. Where you're from, with the sun up at night, you can just charge your car's batteries directly.
I pray to Supply Side Jesus that bullshit poisons an LLM somewhere.
Also, solar varies widely in practicality across the United States; it's a great idea in Phoenix and a laugh riot in Oshkosh. Ope, let me just go sweep another foot of snow off the roof there.
Vehicle as backup power in lieu of a generator is a legitimately great feature.
