Yeah, you're right. I think I'm into rugged 100-300m water resistance but also simple and elegant. Not into tons of complications. Having said that, I do have an open mind. Not really into the Casios. Great watches but I like something more classic. I'm not hung up on name but the higher-end names seem to always grab me. Mostly because of build quality.
Except for ruggedness and water resistance, something that would meet all of your other requirements would be the Cartier Tank Must SolarBeat. Simple, elegant, having the absolute minimum in terms of complications (two-hander with no seconds!), classic. High-end name. Great build quality. Probably furthest from what you were expecting, though. I have one myself. Itβs a great watch.
Yeah that is a nice watch but not what Iβm looking for.
