I think the day will come, but for the time being there are so few high-end solar-powered watches. I am really tempted by this one, but I wish I had more choice.

Oh wow, radio synced perpetual calendar too! Love a watch with a date complication you don't need to mess with ~ every other month

Thanks for posting, I'm going to have a think here, might have a Junghans entering the collection soon πŸ˜€

The Seiko Prospex solar and astron gps solar might also fit, while being on the sportier side if less "luxurious".

I've already ordered this guy, will post when I get it (am thinking probably a brown strap right now, the stock strap is turrible)

That looks like a nice watch, but it might be a bit too busy for my taste. However, I do like it.

Astron is busy but Seiko Prospex solar divers aren't .

I had never really considered the Astron. I love the functionality and some of the dials I like, but something about that watch just does not grab me. Maybe with another strap. It's now on my watch list though.

That is nice!

Citizen Chronomaster is another choice.

undefined> Citizen caliber 0100

Yeah, I have looked at these, but of all of them, this is the one that I loved, but it's not easily available and out of my budget anyways.

Are you more interested in getting a high-end name but a three-hand watch, or would you prefer a lot of features? I'm asking because you'll probably get responses in two separate camps. The first Camp will be things like the Seiko Astron or various casios that have lots of functions. The other will be things like the citizen chronomaster. This Tag Heuer seems like it fits into the latter group.

Yeah, you're right. I think I'm into rugged 100-300m water resistance but also simple and elegant. Not into tons of complications. Having said that, I do have an open mind. Not really into the Casios. Great watches but I like something more classic. I'm not hung up on name but the higher-end names seem to always grab me. Mostly because of build quality.

Except for ruggedness and water resistance, something that would meet all of your other requirements would be the Cartier Tank Must SolarBeat. Simple, elegant, having the absolute minimum in terms of complications (two-hander with no seconds!), classic. High-end name. Great build quality. Probably furthest from what you were expecting, though. I have one myself. It’s a great watch.

Yeah that is a nice watch but not what I’m looking for.
