She professes to be a Buddhist. She may be the first practising Buddhist to hold high office in the UK. I guess it shouldn't be such a surprise given the number of cruel 'Christian' politicans

I know Buddhism teaches that life is suffering, but I'm pretty sure the idea is to reduce suffering, not spread it.
