I knew a girl with thin eyelashes in junior high/high school. She got made fun of for it a lot, by both girls and boys. So, I'm guessing some girls want thick lashes because they learned the hard way that guys do indeed care, and unfortunately society cares in general.

As a dude, find fake lashes repulsive. I'm just too nice to call people out to their face.

You probably find extreme falsies repulsive, but you probably wouldn't notice a natural filling in if them. And, you wouldn't find a lack of natural lashes very attractive either.

Same but I do call them out. Told my girl she looks great naturally and she finally got enough confidence to go bare all the time

Not accosting strangers or, heaven forbid, friends about how repulsive you find their features is a pretty low bar for "nice".

No, this is not a case of anyone caring about that specifically. This is yet another case of teenagers picking on someone and finding any difference to focus on. Teenagers can be horrible.

There are two extreme sides. Yeah, if you dont have many lashes to begin with, men will notice it as a flaw.

Right now, extremely large lashes are popular. I suspect it arose from Instagram makeup posts, or Instagram beauty in general. Eyelashes are harder to see in photos, so putting them on causes a fuller look. There are lots of women today who still wear a full face of Instagram makeup every day. The look today is extreme.

The sad reality of false lashes are that their regular lashes will eventually all or mostly fall out with extended use, both the glue on ones and the thraded in one's. It's a self-fulfilling cycle, because eventually they'll have no natural lashes at all, causing them to have to wear them.

I used to wear falsies once a week back in 2010/2011 for a fashion meetup I attended. As soon I saw my natural lashes start falling out, I stopped. Now I only wear them if a Halloween costume calls for it. It's not worth it otherwise.

And before anyone comes at me with: "But if you wear them pRoPeRlY-!"

It doesn't matter. Humans aren't infallible and mistakes happen. Over a long enough period, those lashes are coming out.

Yes, guys care, but what we have today isn't just a reaction to men caring, it's Instagram selfish culture in general.
