They’re from a different time but they’re not exactly outdated and it’s unfortunate that they’re psychologists now who’ve never even read Freud because of the idea that it’s all unscientific nonsense. They need updating and critical engagement obviously but so does Marx. All Freud is really trying to get at is that psychological phenomena happens for a reason and has a purpose, it’s the modern psychiatric ideal of ‘oh your unhappy your a ‘depressed’ type due to lack of serotonin, take these pills’ which is closer to the kind of ‘astrology’ of personality types.
And modern/mainstream psychology does use ‘personality type’ tests anyway, they’re just supposed to be a potential tool that can provide some in insight rather than show objective reality
