This is so anti consumer, I'm surprised the EU hasn't stepped in to stop it yet

Good point. We've been angrily posting about this for a few days and this is the first time I've seen mention of the EU. Please protect my rights in other parts of the world, EU! You're the only body of legislation that seems to have enough sense to do so. Just don't talk about website cookies while you do it. Sigh, there's no winning in a post-capitalism world.
