They're more similar than one might think.

Did you know that you can make a Pomato plant with potatos underneath and tomatoes above by grafting them together?

Definitely pretty cool.

Also Potatoes do grow little red berries that look like cherry tomatoes, just don't try eating them, they're poisonous and taste terrible and bitter.
