I have never seen any of the content you are talking about on YouTube. My "front page" is mostly movie essays, music production, some standup comedy, and tech reviews mainly from GamersNexus. I'll agree the comments can be ass sometimes but that's also dependent on the size of the channel and content of the video. Just out of curiosity do you have an account and subscribe to channels?
I don't use an account and block cookies/trackers/etc. What I see is default YT
gross
Got any good recs for movie production channels?
Not sure if you meant music production. The movie channels I watch are video essays highlighting different techniques and why some things work better than other. For that CinemaStix and Thomas Flight are my favorites. If I want something a little more silly I'll do Filmento. Corridor Crew is also solid as the only "react" channel that actually breaks down vfx, CGI, animation, and stunts. A lot of the time they also have industry guests providing insight.
For music production I like Venus Theory, In The Mix, and a little bit of You Suck At Producing.
Having subscribed to all of these channels the algorithm will also throw some gems from lesser known channels in my feed. Beyond that it's not difficult keep my feed clean by using "don't recommend channel" if I get something I dont like.
