Pick an instance that doesn't defederate then. Big part of why I picked SDF - to date they haven't blocked any instances at all on either their Lemmy or Mastodon instances. And they're a nonprofit that has been providing network services since the late 80s (they're literally older than the web, even still run a gopher server and started out as an anime BBS).
