Saw now that the simple question posted on here was reported and removed by a moderator without a chance to defend oneself.

  1. It was an honest and simple question, no harm or trolling was intended. What if it was asked by somebody who was actually curious and wanted to know more? The responses and downvotes and reporting definitely would put this person off for life.

  2. Not having a lot of exposure to these things, and not knowing all the rules and ways of the internet, this whole thing seems to have blown put of proportion and something that could have been a civil conversation, turned into an attack.

Again, was being sincere and didn’t mean any harm by the simple question. But what’s done, is done, we guess… :-l

To answer the question I think you had:

  1. Let's just re-affirm that physical attractiveness does not relate to the value of a person.

  2. If you want to see (what I consider) an attractive trans woman, watch this video. It's very long, yes, but the payoff won't be worth it without the entire context of the video.

https://youtu.be/IAA1XtDOuH8?si=5JW9K2sXGe0AsUz2

  1. You don't notice trans people who pass specifically because they pass. It's a sampling bias problem. You only notice the ones that stand out. Statistics would say you've met plenty of trans people without even realizing it.

  1. Agreed, but the comic does not hint at anything being about a person’s value, it’s about pure physical, primal interaction.

  2. The video doesn’t show anyone, but a story and manga instead, so not sure if there is something missing?

  3. We don’t really have trans people in our town or that many in our country, as we're quite conservative compared to the US or EU. Have only seen what makes the rounds in meme / popular posts on social sites. A lot of them are the fem boys from Thailand, the rest is what looks like the Ru Paul type thing. Once again, am an outsider, not familiar with the terms, words, etc.

  1. Yes, I just wanted to reaffirm that.
  2. You gotta watch the whole thing.
  3. It's still fairly likely you've met one and not known it, unless you're hanging out in your small town and not meeting anyone new. You'd be surprised at how well some people can pass with only hair, style, and makeup.

And yeah, so long as you're being nice, asking questions is a great way to learn! Plus, it helps other people who are too afraid to ask for themselves.

Kinda unrelated but thanks for sharing this video! I'm not sure how to describe it but it was really worth watching.

Yeah dude, I know 😒. I've had comments deleted and was banned for... nothing if you ask me. Some were discussions, some were questions... you can't expect a person to know everything there is to know about a subject, the dos and don'ts. I really had no intention to offend anyone, but hey, some people didn't take it like that I guess 🤷.

I made a joke on politics the other day.

I said something like, “the rite wang cant fly without the left wang. We need all wangs to mak things work for we can fly”.

Comment removed by mod because “I don’t know if the commenter had a stroke or what.”

Lol

Fine.

that is genuinely hilarious, I chortled beer on my kb.

[-] 0x4E4F@sh.itjust.works 4 points 10 months ago

WTF 🤦

That's why I started posting mostly in shitposts, cuz almost anything goes here and people don't take things seriously here. The internet used to be like that... don't know when people got so itchy about certain subjects. You don't like it, move on 🤷. That's what I do, I never report anything.

Still, even here, looks like things can be taken very seriously. It just boggles my mind, but hey, things are what they are...

I wish moderators could edit comments to remove the unwanted offensive part. Were there a lot of downvotes? I can't see them on blahaj lemmy. They knew what a trans person is, I hoped they could show a bit more respect tho
