Sure. Leaving most of Trumps policies in place as well as supporting a genocide in Palestine. He also hasn't done anything to reverse the genocide on the Indigenous people in the USA, if you want to be spicy. He hasn't done anything about the clearly disproportionate violence against non-white people, and he allows the hate speech and othering to continue unabated, providing a nice scapegoat for the country's problems without him having to lift a finger.
There's also the ongoing imperialism of the USA, and their hundreds of military bases across the planet, asserting control over numerous populations. While this isn't necessarily fascist, the common argument used for invasion into other countries is that "we need to bring them freedom and Democracy, and our Western values". And again, there is still an occupation in Iraq by the USA military, under Biden, where these were clear "reasons" for the occupation.
So, is it fascist to allow the continuation of things that may be considered fascist when viewed together? Probably. Especially when you lead the largest military in the world, and the second largest economy, no one else has the power to sign a paper and end the atrocities. Well, at least some of them.
Colonialism isn't domestic Fascism. Fuck off. We have an election to keep our country in existence. Shut the fuck up. You're a distraction. Shut up.

Who said mutually exclusive? Order of operations. You don't get to be idealistic tomorrow, if we die today. But stay home in December. Prove your point. And whine about how we go high (which I agree is the worst thing we do) but then stand by and elect Trump. Sick logic big dog.

And it's sad to see the one party that seemed to have promise devolve into "vote for us because we aren't the evil other guys!" (while doing similar evil shit foreignly).
More reason to please not encourage people to stay home and elect the dictator that will inevitably fuck your country harder than our current iron fist regime.
Thanks. I agree. It sucks. I think the latest Marc Maron special summed it up well about going from our progressive trajectory to this.. "I don't get it.. we had Obama.. I did my part. I went to yoga. I brought my own bag to whole foods.. but here we are! How'd we get here??"

Israel and Gaza are not on the US' presidential ballot. Fending off a fascist autocrat that will make this our last semi free election, is on the ballot. Any argument about anything else is moot, and staying home is a vote for Trump. Intellectualizing doesn't change that which is why purported leftists on Lemmy are either pathetically stupid, russian/GOP trolls, or edge lords.
You're right, but the work doesn't end at this election. There's a long road of reforms or revolution required to move away from the conditions that made these two the only "options". And your representatives aren't going to do it for you.
Agreed. That's why I voted to primary Pelosi out. Why I vote far left up and down the ballot. Why I've participated in and at times led activism for almost 30 years. But we aren't having that kind of presidential election this year. We're fighting a backslide unfortunately. And sadly we're all finding the country is further right than we thought. We had Obama. They didn't have a north star yet.
