my boss said he doesn't personally post here but some others might. and my boss thinks it's cool that I'm a leftist, he's one too, apparently, and that a bunch of our coworkers are leftists. some of them might post here?? it's a finance firm -- the last place I'd expect this. how the fuck do they have a positive opinion of this place??

YOU HAVE TO TELL ME IF YOU POST HERE AND WHAT YOUR @ IS. THIS IS SO UNFAIR LEAVING ME ON THE HOOK LIKE THIS. DON'T MAKE ME POST PPB TO THE WORK SLACK AND SEE WHO LAUGHS.

(I use tree style tabs so they can read my tabs when I share my screen -- I didn't hide this place because who the fuck has heard of hexbear)

As a programmer all my friends I’ve made at work are right wing freaks of some sort. Now I work at a bigger company and there’s some folks I assume would be cool but I work remote and don’t really have the chance to be friends.

It’s funny I went to a company social and the politics were terrible. Senior SWE was telling me about how he doesn’t understand how there’s homeless people in Texas since it’s so cheap here (he previously lived in the Bay Area). Obsessed with petty theft shit happening in the bay and just overall a nasty person.

gonna be honest, I've never met as many leftish programmers in one place before. they got a fash dude fired more or less instantly a year before they hired me. I was told there are still some right wing assholes but they know to keep their mouths shut, at least in this group.
