Are posts about games that are heavily inspired by Fallout allowed in this community? By that I mean games like Atom RPG or Space Wreck.

Also, any recommended mods for the OG two Fallouts? I've heard of 1.5 but I haven't got into mods for them yet.

This probably isn't the space for protracted conversations on non-fallout games, but we're already here and I like knowing about similar games, so why not tell us about them?

Yep that's fair enough, I love Fallout enough to be happy that there is a dedicated and focused community for it. I am just constantly chasing that Fallout 1 and 2 high.

Atom RPG is basically Fallout, but in the post apocalyptic USSR. It uses the same action point combat system as in Fallout 1 and 2, and has a similar retrofuture aesthetic.

Space Wreck I haven't had too much of a play of, but it is an intentionally short game with multiple branching paths, designed to be replayed with different characters. The description of the game directly cites Fallout and it terms itself a Fallout-like. It is a post apocalyptic story in space. Seems pretty sweet.

Both of those sound like a good romp. I'm probably going to look into Atom RPG because I love a good sovietpunk setting. The Metro games are some of my absolute favorites because of that (well, that and ranger mode). Thanks for the recommendations.

Underrail is the closest thing really I’ve found to classic Fallout. It’s very dense and has many solutions to obstacles.

The newer Wasteland games, though the original predates Fallout, have taken inspiration in some ways from Fallout. Wasteland 3 especially reminds me of New Vegas in its structure with various mutually exclusive factions to support.
