It had some pretty funny moments, and the universe being trapped in an ever expanding warehouse is pretty Futurama, but I was pretty disheartened when I saw the name of the episode and when I saw it was just about Amazon. I hope not all of them are current event things.
Shooting out of a cannon with the wings hat and flying around in Mario 64 was such a pure fun experience for my kid brain. The switch in music and just soaring around a 3d level was really something special at the time.
Because of the unfortunate centralisation that's happened, with so many people being directed to lemmy.world or choosing to go there, a big DDoS attack on world would disrupt a lot of communities that people on other instances use. It's in everyone's interests to spread the load more, which is why I find it sad when some communities migrate to world. UnixPorn was one, although it was already on lemmy.ml which is a larger instance too
Hmm that's not promising news for me. I've found Futurama works best when it's handling things not directly related to current events. I've been concerned about this season in general since I heard about it, more so after seeing the trailer, and even more so now.
Considering this user made an account on lemmy.ml to post this, and the community in world was made by the same user with a world account, maybe they don't understand the federation aspect correctly. It seems to happen a lot, and it's frustrating because it leads to one huge instance in lemmy.world.
While Papers Please is very good, it has more in common with nations in a post-soviet balkanisation than a communist nation. The banality is very present in modern western government as well, and the inability to afford medicine for your child is something that is ripped straight from the modern USA. It is a great approximation of what people imagine due to media conditioning, and that makes it very easy to role-play within the game and really enjoy it.
All in all, amazing game, amazing soundtrack, not really indicative.
I wouldn't say this is world news. It's barely even US national news tbh. It would be very appropriate in the midwest.social instance though if you haven't put it there.
So don't defederate with Meta to own the tankies? That seems like pretty poor reasoning.
Meta and other large companies should be defederated preemptively. You can judge them by what they have done, which consistently runs counter to the interest of ordinary people.
If it has to be build to rent, I would rather the housing be publicly owned. I'm not really a fan of media spruiking how good corporate dominance over more of our lives is.
For all the shit people give commie blocks, I would much rather a stable commie block to live in that I know I won't have to move from than the constant anxiety of whether I will have to find a new home for my family.
I hope to see less song lyric comment chains on completely unrelated posts. Also I don't know why, but I always hated the whole, 'my partner, let's call them blank (not real name)' thing.
Unfortunately for us, we've developed a culture that is against anyone that can be seen as a 'whinger'. Anyone who has complaints about how things are run is generally seen as lazy or entitled, and the mentality of 'my life sucked so yours should too' is extremely prevalent.
Post-Punk for sure. Everything from Joy Division to Ulitsa Vostok. Also shoegaze is pretty sick.
