submitted 6 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) by SpaceTurtle224@lemmy.world to c/autism@lemmy.world

Please take your time familiarizing yourselves with the new rules. some redundant rules have been removed, some were merged, and rule "3) Your posts must include a text body." has been added. feel free to discuss the rule changes and ways you feel the rules could be improved under this post.

Maybe I missed something, but community input before the change would be appreciated next time.

Also I'm skeptical of the usefulness of Rule #3 at the present time. It seems like a barrier to entry for a tired poster who might not have the energy to write a full post body.

We might be able to fix that by explicitly allowing for a "trivial" body in the rules which can then serve as confirmation when someone doesn't read the rules. E.g. I could just write "bottom text" or "rule" or "tired" and that would fly.

Although tbh I'm happy here, I'm just offering my thoughts.

we added that rule because some user were creating posts with just the title, that was confusing and hard to start a discussion over. It doesnt have to be an essay mind you it can be a short sentence describing your question/problem/resource.

that was confusing and hard to start a discussion over.

Fair. I still think you ought to consider dropping in a "it doesn't have to be long" or something in the official rule.

how about this? "Your posts must include a text body. It doesn't have to be long, it just needs to be descriptive."
