Countless hours on that Genesis version as a kid. Even played it on Sega Channel. Felt like the legit netrunning future.

Oh man, I remember SEGA channel. That's also where I discovered the Genesis version, but don't remember where I finally tracked down the cartridge, I love both of these games - while the SNES one had a better narrative, I think the Genesis one got the feel of the TTRPG down pat.

Absolutely agree! When I finally got my hands on the SNES version was confused by how different it was. But the plot line was definitely better!

I literally have a Shadowrun tattoo, I've been playing the TTRPG since the 80s, and I even have my name in writing credits for two Shadowrun sourcebooks, but somehow, I feel like an imposter, because I never played either of these :P

Both of them are fantastic. Definitely worth spending a weekend or two with an emulator.

Play the Genesis game every couple of years. Bought a Genesis mini, little 3D printed cartridge to stick in it, and a Shadowrun label for it.

Love that damn game.
