The mixture of emotions I feel about weather or not I think this is weird is so hard to decipher.

For many people, their tattoos have a lot of significance to them, so preserving that isn't any weirder than embalming and burying the dead.

If you're going to go through the effort of preserving something, it makes more sense to display it than to bury it in the ground.
