Infinity my beloved...

[–] const_void@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

Infinity is great. Really hoping the dev refractors it for Lemmy.

Infinity is the best FOSS app I've used for Reddit and supported Relay through purchasing Pro. As a UI/UX Designer, I admire everything these devs contributed for their 3rd party apps to user experience compared to Reddit themselves.

[–] gnuslashdhruv@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Infinity's one of the most attractive Reddit UIs around. I've been using it for a while, I didn't realize it was a FOSS app. Great to learn though!

[–] virtualfiber@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

I just stumbled it upon FDroid's homepage by accident. I tried it, then I never used my Relay ever again lol. But I missed scrolling reddit by one hand using Relay, very convenient feature! I though I was going to miss r/fossdroid, but there's and open source instance here on lemmy also, c/opensource if you're interested.

Hits me right in the RedReader.

[–] Nyxaion@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 years ago

I use Infinity. It's a bit different from what I used before, so I had to learn a few things, but now I like it. If Reddit gets rid of third party apps, or even old reddit, I don't know if I'm going to keep using it.

Infinity is amazing

[–] CookieJarObserver@feddit.de 1 points 2 years ago

Infinity is a 11/10 but boost is great as well.

[–] fernandu00@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I love infinity! Easy to use and it doesn't push notifications all day to you check reddit all the time

[–] animist@lemmy.one 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Infinity is the only reason I had gone back to reddit. Not being able to use it is what initially drove me to the fediverse

Slide was my jam. Though I never did try any of the others.

I used infinity.

but i think almost anyone here uses/used an open source client no? Thats like a predestined path

[–] twei@feddit.de 1 points 2 years ago

I love the infinity client and I already miss the "swipe to upvote"-feature on jerboa

[–] WhoRoger@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It's more likely, probably. On Reddit it really seems to be a forgotten child aside of the fossdroid people.

[–] nodiet@feddit.de 1 points 2 years ago

I was actually pleasantly surprised when some subreddits announced their participation in the blackout with a picture including the infinity for reddit (and boost) icon(s).

[–] Jaximus@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 years ago (3 children)

I tried Infinity but it simply wasn't comfortable for me so I went back to Boost. I generally prefer FOSS but in this case I had to go with what worked best for me.

It's crazy how much better these apps make scrolling Reddit

[–] original_ish_name@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I was surprised when I didn't see anyone talk about infinity

[–] SexualPolytope 1 points 2 years ago

Infinity was hands down the best for me. Used to use Sync in the past, and Slide before that. Infinity simply was better than both. And FOSS.

[–] notExactlyI20@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I really wish the Infinity dev considers working on the backend of the app to make it work with Lemmy. That's no easy task, I'm aware of that, but dreaming is free am I right?

[–] DarkwinDuck@feddit.de 1 points 2 years ago (6 children)

There's the Idea of making a lemmy API that's Reddit compatible. Meaning all Reddit client apps could migrate to lemmy with minimal effort.

Infinity has been my go-to. Spending much less time on it though.

[–] XPost3000@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

Really hoping that Infinity comes to Lemmy, I love the app

[–] neosheo@beehaw.org 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I use infinity. Was a slider user (and loved it) but isn't slide dead?

[–] WhoRoger@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago (8 children)

It hasn't been developed for a year but it works just fine for most people.

[–] daviddwk@midwest.social 1 points 2 years ago

Didn't even notice that slide is ded. Still my favorite.

Guess I'm the only Sync user lol

[–] Madsuperninja@lemmy.one 1 points 2 years ago

Me too! I'm going to miss how easy it was to customize the UI, and a lot of the QOL upgrades over the years. I also loved how much the devs interacted with users to improve the app.

[–] Dasnap@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 years ago

Been a Sync owner for years.

[–] Goodtoknow@lemmy.ca 0 points 2 years ago

And NoSurf :(

[–] psysok@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Is Infinity FOSS? Its my preferred client, but I had no idea it was open source. Would be great if it supported Lemmy.

[–] PanaX@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Wow, a mention of slide? Incredible. There are dozens of us!

[–] nodiet@feddit.de 0 points 2 years ago

I used to use slide when it was the only way to get your own personalised front-page without logging into a reddit account. But infinity does that too, now, and has a much better UI imo

Boost was amazing for me. Daily user, but not anything other than browsing, some commenting, and minimal posting. Is live for the dev to take a crack at a lemmy app
