My wife and I both received message requests on Signal from the same "person". I assume this is some sort of scam but since it was the exact same name and profile image for me and my wife I wanted to see if anyone else has seen this so I can figure out how targeted this attack was. Thank you.
Certainly appears to be a scam. I always say if you have to ask chances are that it’s a scam.
Looks like a pig butchering scam.
I had a co-worker who was in a pig butchering scam for years. It's devastating for the victims, and also for the scam callers who are often imprisoned and forced to make these calls against their will.
