And news irrelevant to you and politics

If you like trains then there are a few slightly active communities you can help contribute to. Just an example of a niche on Lemmy I'm trying to grow.

!cranetrainexcavators@lemmy.world

!trains@lemmy.ml

!melbournetrains@aussie.zone

!rail@feddit.uk

Maybe I will also try to revive !trainsimworld@lemmy.zip bc that's the game I'm currently enamoured with.

Sort by new, it helps.

I'm not denying the preponderance of those two subjects, but there's plenty of other things too, even if you filter/block most nsfw stuff like I do. Mind you, there are days and times where new posts get scarce, but I think that's a good thing that indicates lemmy users aren't as addicted as other forums can be.

you would have to filter out communism too ☭

That's what Local is for, it gives you a feed with different things based off the fun little niche you signed up for!

[–] jeze@kzoo.to 7 points 11 months ago (2 children)

@match I'm only on Mastodon at the moment. One account to rule them all.

So, is politics in the Linux category or memes category?

[–] lugal@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Modern politics is the prequel of star trek

Sir, our sensors are showing this to be the absence of everything. It is a void without matter or energy of any kind.

[–] Lwaxana@startrek.website 7 points 11 months ago

I filter out everything else

[–] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago (5 children)

What about the obsessive hatred of automobiles?

[–] jetsetdorito@lemm.ee 9 points 11 months ago (1 children)

cities were built around them, they just get really inefficient as a city gets bigger. People are mad since most cities are just too far gone now.

I see plenty of Linux content as well, but I've barely seen anything about Star Trek.

[–] hamid@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

I'm doing my part with weed memes

[–] roguetrick@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I wouldn't call @The_Picard_Maneuver@startrek.website/@The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world star trek only. He's here to provide us with all the memes.

I actually don't come here too often in part because I'm not interested in the topics that are popular here.
