have not watched yet but I think im aware of these and don't see how they could make ice. I am going to watch when I get time.

depends on freezing nighttime desert air and moving it with architectural elements over water

oh that makes sense. I forget how desserts are extreme in both directions.

Deserts also tend to have very clear air (not humidity for clouds and few other sources of pollution), which allows heat to radiate away faster than in other regions. If you do things right, you can localize this to make an area cool quickly using heat radiation and reflection, perhaps even more quickly than using convection and isolation (big building that blocks out the heat but allows airflow).
