So a couple of days ago a co worker was trying to give me shit for going slow, I responded “ I’m still getting everything done, this is just a job, what are they gonna do, fire me?” Apparently that really upset her and she hasn’t come in the last few days, she’s still on the schedule so I don’t think she quit. The office gossip told me it has something to do with what I said. I’m a little proud of myself.

I was teasing one of my employees once and he casually replied "I was looking for a job when I found this one." I found that to be highly profound.

It may be all she has in life

I don't get people who make their job their entire identity. It literally is only a thing because this dystopian hellscape requires I have one to not die.

I'm saving and investing every dollar I possibly can, and when I hit my number, I will retire.

It is just a job. I'm lucky to have a good one that I don't dread doing every day, but I will quit the moment I hit my number and I don't understand people who fetishize work when they could be retired in peace.
