It was literally a shitty day.
It was literally a shitty day.
Shit that sucks man. I'll be around for the next hour or so if you want to talk, but no guarantees that I'll be sober or coherent.
Not sure if I'm being supportive by sharing a similar story
I had the sewer back up in my old basement apartment several times, because the shitty landlord didn't want to fix the sewer pipe that had a tree root in it or something. Mostly it stayed contained to the shower, but one time it erupted all over the bathroom. My roommate just rinsed the sewage off his toothbrush and used it like there was nothing wrong. I was like "dude you can get another one for like a dollar."
Thanks. I appreciate the anecdote. I always find it best to just talk things out to calm myself a bit. I feel better after last night. I guess I just don't like the chaos from it all. It rattles my nerves. The cook who was with me has that problem but, she was composed the whole time. You all would like her, she's a sweet lady who really goes above the standard to try to give the patients exactly what they want, even if it's not on the menu.
I suspect the hurricane may have put stress on the sewer system but, I'm not a plumber. The whole process was just shocking- how fast it happened. In 20 minutes or so, the kitchen was mostly flooded. Thankfully it didn't reach the food stores.
Ahhhhwwww yuck. I'm sorry. Did you manage to say out of it?
We were going around for a good while trying to figure out what to do while trying to phone our superiors. I went away from the fumes but, that one lady I work with still wanted me to put away dishes in scalding hot sewage. She just kept washing dishes for 30 minutes more.
