Explanation: During the Second Triumvirate, or Rule of Three Men, the future Emperor Augustus made a compromise wherein he would get the western part of the Empire, Mark Antony would get the eastern part of the Empire, and Marcus Aemilius Lepidus would get... Africa. Africa was a wealthy province - the wealthiest in the west other than Italy, even - but far from the equivalent of nearly half the Empire - and certainly not enough to challenge Augustus or Mark Antony!
