The entire situation in Palestine is grounded in a literal interpretation of Exodus. I'm 100% in agreement with your assessment here.
effort
Welcome to c/effort, the home of effort posts! This is a space where you can write on an topic, as long as it reflects real time and effort to put together.
Rules
Posts are text-only. No images or videos.
2.While the topic can be on anything, posts still require “effort”. While there isn’t a minimum word limit or anything, generally this means it’s longer than most other posts and there’s also that the expectation that your posts required real effort to write up.
“Master” posts that have a lot of links are welcomed.
No copypastas
i've been around a bit and i don't think anyone derives their ethics from their religion, they only ever use their religion to justify their ethics. liberals developed liberal christianity just like feudal landlords developed feudal landlord christianity 1000 years before them.
In short
Superstructure justifies the base
And even the teachings of Jesus, I basically view it just as Millenarianism, he told people to purify themselves for a coming apocalypse, that I honestly think he thought was coming much sooner that most Christians today think it is.
That's what many biblical scholars believe. If you're curious about this subject, I'd recommend checking out Bart Ehrman.
