Not necessarily communist but I am interested in learning about buddhism but don't know where to start, and I think some comrades on here have mentioned it before

I also recently got into Buddhism and I would say a good place to start is What The Buddha Taught by Walpola Rahula, once you've finished that you can check out The Noble Eightfold Path: Way to the End of Suffering by Bhikku Bodhi as well! Both of these books will give you a very good foundation.

I would also advise against fixating on choosing a school or sect, it can lead to decision paralysis and you may just get fixated with a school that isn't even practiced anywhere near you. Absolutely look into Sanghas near you and base your choices around that! I hope you enjoy your time with Buddhism!

The only Buddhism I have any familiarity with is secular Buddhism as interpreted by white men.
