From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

This article reads like AI slop.

Tuxedo is continuing work on a Snapdragon X-Elite laptop but haven't released it yet because Linux support is lacking around the SoC. They've made some device tree commits around it to the kernel. That's it. Saved you a click.

God I wish megacorps would stop being morons with NDA nonsense and just open up the possibilities for open source devs to actually use the hardware that's out there

We're still hampered by the decisions made decades ago to base our society around proprietary technologies.

It's a shame bad people who understood the implications of such decisions were able to recruit layman to their cause. Good people like Richard Stallman are only heard about in fringe tech circles while the bad men are household names.

Can't work entrepreneurship – the soul of americanism – on shared goods.

After months of little to no news, we finally have some more data, released by Tuxedo. Linux laptop OEM Tuxedo announced that they were working on a Snapdragon-based Linux laptop around the release date of the X Elite, but there has not been a lot of news about it, up until now. This silence has made several people wonder what was going on, making many wonder whether the project was still in development.

Lmao unbelievable,
