Almost feel sorry for this guy, working so hard to create an echo chamber all by themselves.

That community should be renamed “links to the craziest and most unfounded shit I can find” but that doesn’t have the same ring as “conservative”

[-] aubertlone@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Please just stay on reddit on your "echo chambers" lmao

[-] CorrodedCranium@lemmy.fmhy.ml 3 points 1 year ago

This post has been up two minutes and I think already has more positive votes than any other post here. That should say something

[-] BSMan1011@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

You would think being alone would make for some good echoes

[-] nodsocket@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Ironically by upvoting this post you are bumping the community to the top. It's free advertising

[-] Hypersapien@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Yeah, but the community is filled with liberal posts anyway.

It's basically becoming like r/FlatEarth, where they make fun of flat earthers.

[-] d00phy@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Please please please let this turn into a Reddit-like r/AnimeTitties situation. This was one of my favorite things about Reddit & the Internet in general.

[-] Ralphensnitch@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I hope we -also- get a well moderated !/anime_titties where we can discuss world news items.

[-] nuxetcrux@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

literally the same exact concept

This and political compass memes

[-] Izzent@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

The dude has to be a troll. No one has this little self-awareness. (speaking of @Optionhome)

Edit: Seems like the dude had enough and migrated to conservatives only

[-] chris2112@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

its gotta be. They've already had their own reddit replacement for years, no reason to come here other than to start a flame ware

[-] sensibilidades@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

They’ve already had their own reddit replacement for years

but Stormfront pre-dates reddit

[-] PlasticExistence@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

They probably meant Voat

[-] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

lol. That Colbert Report header graphic.

[-] Hypersapien@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago

Have you taken a close look at conservative America lately?

[-] Izzent@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Sadly yes. Thankfully only from far away as I live in Europe.

[-] ChaosAD@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago
[-] novibe@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago

It depends…. But yeah, not much better… Europe is a few years behind and still going hard on neoliberalism, but the right is moving more and more to the right. And the “left” that has been winning ground is as fang-less and liberal as American Democrats. So yeah, we’re fucked as well. Only a few years behind lmao.

I almost feel sorry for the users who think brigading other people's communities is a worthwhile use of their time, let alone making political discourse any healthier.

[-] ConTheLibrarian@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

It must be jarring leaving their bot/troll protected safe spaces of twitter/reddit and interacting with sane normal people.

Meta discussion - the existence of this post makes the wonder what moderation tools on lemmy are like? And if there's systems in place to deal with unwanted content.

https://join-lemmy.org/docs/en/users/04-moderation.html

  1. Users report posts & comments
  2. Communities have mods
  3. Instances have admins
  4. Instances that disagree on how moderation should be done can block the other

Edit: Changed "unmoderated communities" to "unwanted content" to clarify my intent to discuss moderation in general

[-] shemmy@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

This community is moderated. We receive reports and will act on them if the reported content breaks the rules in the sidebar: there is no racism or bigotry, no personal insults, and u/stanleytweedle has not been spamming.

Do I really have to endure crazies here aswell?

[-] havocpants@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

You can block users and there's a big red "Block Community" button at the top right.

[-] xyzinferno@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

You don't have to endure shit, maybe stop brigading other people's communities if you don't like them. You can't possibly willingly search up a community for an ideology you don't agree with, then complain about having to see them.

[-] dudebro@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I mean, sure he can.
